Qualifications and recognition

Elizabeth obtained her Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the Queensland University of Technology, and her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the same university, graduating with an academic award.

In 2022 she was a finalist in the 30 Under 30 Awards in the criminal law category.

What she acts in

Elizabeth has extensive experience across three overlapping areas:

• Criminal defence. Charges in the Magistrates Court through to the higher courts, including murder, drug trafficking, weapons, serious assaults and sexual assaults.
• Traffic and drink driving law. Disqualification periods, whether a conviction is recorded, and whether a work licence or special hardship order is available.
• Domestic violence law. Protection order applications, police protection directions and contravention charges.

Those three areas turn up together more often than people expect. A domestic violence application can sit alongside a criminal charge and a family law matter, all running on different timetables in different courts. Knowing how they interact is what stops a decision in one from damaging you in another.

She works in plain English, and she is not there to lecture you about how you ended up in the position you are in.
