A new paralegal at Southport

Published

The appointment

A part-time paralegal joined the Southport office in 2024, holding a Juris Doctor from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, and studying a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Bond University.

The background was unusual. It included six years as chief translating officer at a government office in Hong Kong, three years as a paralegal at a business consultancy working on regulatory compliance and commercial transactions, and NAATI certification as a translator between English and Chinese.

For a firm on the Gold Coast, having someone who can take instructions in Mandarin or Cantonese is genuinely useful, particularly in the first appointment where getting the facts right matters most.

That staff member has since moved on. For current enquiries see our Southport office page.
